Death Sentence for Somalis Who killed Maltese National Last February

A Maltese national, Paul Anthony Formosa was killed last February in Somalia. The Al-Shabab terrorist group claimed the attack on the Maltese Manager.


At the time it was reported that an armed man shot and killed Paul Anthony Formosa who was the construction project manager for DP World, he was killed inside the port. At the time the security forces shot the killer on the spot.

Paul Anthony Formosa hailed from the Maltese city of Marsascala and was 52 years old.

Other men accused of being accomplices in the killing of Maltese port manager Paul Formosa in Somalia last February have been sentenced to death by a military tribunal.


A Somali news agency stated that the chairman of the military tribunal reported that a verdict had been announced against 12 people which included a woman who was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Last February the Al Shabab terrorist group had claimed that the Maltese was in Somalia illegally and he had no right to be there, something which was completely denied by the Government.
